Q: What is a unit?
A: A unit comprises a group of girls within an age range. A unit will
have one or more adult leaders. Oakleigh South Group has three units.
2nd Unit for girls 5 - 11 years of age.
1st Unit for girls 10 - 15 years of age.
Warrior Rangers Unit for
girls 14 - 18 years of age.
Q: What is a unit leader?
A: A Unit Leader is a volunteer that gives up their time and experience
to lead the unit through various activities. All unit leaders are
required to have current Working With Children check and take part in
ongoing training related to guiding activities.
Q: What is a Group?
A: In the case of Oakleigh South, the Group comprises the three units
that meet at the Guest Rd guide hall. The Group leader co-ordinates
activities at this level.
Q: What is the Support Group?
A: The support group is made up of parents elected at the AGM who
oversee matters at the Group level. The support group is responsible
for areas such as; hall maintenance, purchase of equipment, paying for
leaders training and conference fees, purchase of leaders uniforms and
generally supporting the unit leaders. All Support Group members are
required to have a current Working With Children card.
