We participate in many different activities during the year. In the hall, we do craft and badge work, traditional & world guiding activities. On of our world guiding games the girls enjoy is when we travel to one of the four World Guide Centres and celebrate the culture of the country they are in. We have the facility to do outdoor cooking at the hall when weather permits.

Each year we like to hold 2 camps - an outdoor camp and an indoor camp. The girls who wish to may also compete in The Lady Stradbroke Cup which is a patrol competition camp. We have done very well in this competition over the years and have even won the cup. I am involved in the organisation of this competition.

We participate in community service activities including collecting for Red Cross and Clean up Australia Day. We also participate in the Oakleigh ANZAC Day parade. We have helped decorate in an old people’s home for Christmas and some girls are involved in individual service projects for their peak achievement awards.

Our unit shirt can be purchased from the Girl Guide shop and is the standard 10-15 year old shirt. If your daughter has come from another unit and has her promise badge etc. and the Aim High & Look Wide books then the cost to renew her promise is approximately $10.00. This covers the cost of the woggle, scarf and further badges. If your daughter is new to Guiding then the cost is approximately $35.00. These costs may be paid in instalments if necessary. We do fundraising in the form of selling Freddo frogs when we need to raise money for a particular event such as an interstate camp or special activity.

We hope your daughter enjoys her time with us and makes many new friends in guiding.

If you would like further information please do not hesitate to contact me.
